The all-new BMW iX1 crossover electric SUV has been introduced in the Nepalese market at Rs 1,49,96,000. Laxmi Premium Motors, the exclusive importer and distributor of BMW cars in Nepal, which began BMW's electrification journey in Nepal with the iX3, has now introduced the iX1 eDrive20 to its lineup.Equipped with a 64.78 kWh battery pack, the BMW iX1 offers a range of 430km to 475km (WLTP). The iX1 eDrive 20 features BMW’s fifth-generation eDrive powertrain and a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system, delivering a maximum output of 150 kW and 250 Nm of torque. This fully-electric SUV accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.6 seconds and has a top speed electronically limited to 170 km/h.Charging the BMW iX1’s battery from 0-100 percent using a standard 11kW AC charger takes 6.3 hours, while a 130kW DC fast charger can charge it from 10-80 percent in just 29 minutes. The design of the electric SUV closely resembles the popular combustion-engined BMW X1, featuring an upright front end with slim LED adaptive headlights, a large, nearly square closed-off BMW kidney grille, and striking chrome strips in the lower air intake. It rides on 18/19-inch alloy wheels and comes with adaptive suspension. The rear showcases horizontally stacked L-shaped LED tail lights and a robust-looking bumper.Inside, the BMW Curved Display is the centerpiece of the display and control system, consisting of a 10.25-inch Information Display and a 10.7-inch Control Display, both under a single curved glass surface angled towards the driver. The iX1 comes with a wide array of standard features, including modern driver assistance systems, 2-zone automatic air conditioning, the Parking Assistant with Reversing Assist Camera, and various innovative digital services. Climate controls are managed via the touchscreen interface.Additional features include a 12-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, electrically adjustable front seats with massage function, wireless phone charging, automatic tailgate operation, and a panoramic sunroof. For safety, the SUV is equipped with multiple airbags, a rear parking camera, park assist, and driver assistance features like cruise control with brake function and front-collision warning. The BMW iX1 eDrive20 rivals the Audi Q4 e-tron in the Nepalese market.
